Betty Lou Stilwell, 81, of Vidor and a longtime resident of Orange passed away Monday, November 29, at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation in Vidor.

Mrs. Stilwell was born on August 8, 1929 in Poplarville, Mississippi to her parents, Tarry Columbus Jacobs and Virgie Lee King. Mrs. Stilwell lived in the Orange area since 1952, she was of the Christian faith and she was a homemaker. She was a very sociable loving lady who enjoyed helping people, crocheting and listening to music.

Mrs. Stilwell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Riley Stilwell; her brothers, Robert Eastman Jacobs and Ray Merrial Jacobs; her nephews, Verrel Harrison King, Jr., Raymond Lee Snyder and John Jacobs.

Those who will cherish her memory are her daughters, Debra Kriege of Orange and Mary Harvey and husband, Eddy of Orange; her sisters, Virginia Faye Snyder and husband, Gerald of Orange and Joyce King and husband, Verrel of Orange; her brother, T. C. Jacobs, Jr. and wife, Gloria of Orange; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous extended family.

Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange and are to be held at a later date.
