Michael Aaron Bland, 29, a native of Orange County, a resident of Houston and a former resident of Fred, passed away Saturday, December 4, at Christus St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. Graveside services to remember his life will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Bland Cemetery in Orange, with a visitation starting at 1 pm at the cemetery, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

Born on August 2, 1981 in Orange, Texas to his parents, Michael Eugene Bland and Susan Kay Holleman, he lived in Houston for the past two years, graduated from Warren High School, raised animals that he showed and won with at the Tyler County Fair and the Southeast Texas State Fair, and enjoyed hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors.

Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Percy Jack and Beverly Bland, and his maternal grandfather, William Clinton Holleman.

Those who will most cherish his memory are his father, Michael E. Bland and wife, Doris of Mauriceville; his mother, Susan K. O’Neal and husband, Bill of Highlands, Texas; his daughter, Hailie of Bullard, Texas; his brother, Matt Bland of Mauriceville; his sister, Carrie Cuevas and husband, Chuck of Clear Lake; his maternal grandmother, Nelda Joyce Holleman of Highlands; his aunt and uncle, Wayne and Tana Fears of Mauriceville; his uncle, Bill Holleman of Sequin, Texas; his niece, Jillian Cuevas of Clear Lake and his nephew, Ian Cuevas of Clear Lake.

Michael is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
