Community dinner will provide free hot meals and live entertainment

H-E-B will host its 20th Annual Feast of Sharing dinner, on Friday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ford Center. In addition to the food and festivities, H-E-B will be making a $3,000.00 donation to the Reginald Garrett Memorial Scholarship Fund. Members of the Garrett family, and leaders from West-Orange-Stark High School will be on hand to accept the donation.

An H-E-B tradition for residents throughout the Golden Triangle community for two decades, this is an opportunity for friends, family members and neighbors to come together and enjoy a free holiday meal and live entertainment.

“H-E-B looks forward to gathering with the community to enjoy a holiday meal and share the spirit of friendship,” said Winell Herron, group vice president of public affairs and diversity. “We are thrilled that Beaumont is celebrating its 20th Annual Feast of Sharing dinner this year and hope that residents in the Golden Triangle will join us on this momentous occasion.”

Hundreds of H-E-B partners and community volunteers will work together to prepare and serve more than 5,000 meals to attendees on Friday, Dec. 10. All together, 1,250 lbs of glazed ham; 155 gallons of mashed potatoes; 90 gallons of green beans; 60 gallons of brown gravy; 450 apple pies; 5,000 dinner rolls; and soft drinks will be served.

Attendees are sure to enjoy holiday performances by local schools and groups, including the Port Neches/Groves Indian Singers, the Lumberton High School Choir and many others.

Attendees of the Feast of Sharing dinner will enjoy a beautiful “Winter Wonderland” theme; live entertainment with performances by the Port Neches/Groves Indian Singers, the Lumberton High School Choir and many more; and a children’s area where kids will enjoy face painting and crafts.

H-E-B volunteers will also prepare and package meals to be delivered to homebound individuals in Beaumont and surrounding areas who are unable to attend the feast.
