Local charged with possession of marijuana

On Friday, Dec. 17, shortly after midnight, Narcotics Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The SUV was stopped on IH-10 near mile post 864 in Vidor.

The investigators made contact with the driver, Patina Patterson, a 44 year old Lake Charles resident. Investigators noticed that the smell of marijuana was coming from the inside of the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators found 10 lbs. of marihuana in the rear seat of the vehicle. Patterson was arrested and transported the Orange County Correctional Facility. Patterson was charged with Possession of Marijuana F/3 and is currently being held with a $25,000 bond.
