Orange burglary suspect in custody
On Thursday December 16 at approximately 3:24 p.m. the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a resident advising that he had just witnessed a burglary at his neighbor’s residence in the 3200 block of Timberlane Circle in Orange. The caller stated that the suspect was driving a black 2004 Kia with Texas license plates and was leaving the area. The caller began following the suspect’s vehicle giving our dispatcher their locations until deputies could arrive.
The suspect fled through several neighborhoods and areas of Orange attempting to get away from the witness. Deputies were able to catch up to and stop the vehicle at Martin Luther King Blvd. and Interstate 10.
Inside the suspects vehicle was an Echo weed eater and a DVD player which had been stolen from the Timberlane residence. The suspect, who was identified as Kevin Scott Miles, W/M, a 25 year old Orange resident was taken into custody and transported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
?Once at the Sheriff’s Office, Miles gave a statement to investigators and confessed to burglarizing the residence on Timberlane Circle and also admitted to burglarizing numerous vehicles in the Greenway Addition inside the City of Orange.
Kevin Miles was transported to the Orange County Correctional Facility and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a 2nd Degree Felony offense. Additional charges are pending. Bond has not been set at the time of this release.
