Kenneth V. Alexander, 71, of Vidor died Thursday, Dec. 23 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at First Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Jett Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.

Born on Aug. 27, 1939, he was a native of Beaumont, and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Kenneth practiced dentistry in Vidor for 35 years. He is a Vidor High School graduate and graduated from Lamar University before going to The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, where he earned his DDS. Kenneth was a member of the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was also a Past President of Sabine District Dental Society.

He served his country in the US Army Reserve where he retired as a Colonel, he was Commander of the 4005th in Houston, and the 817th in New Orleans, La. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post #112 and the Sons of the Republic of Texas.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor, where he attended the Kings Man Sunday School Class and was a accomplished lifelong singer. He was a member of the Vidor Masonic Lodge #1286 and was a Shriner.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Norma Jean Alexander; son Kenneth Vaughn Alexander Jr. of Vidor; daughter Katherine Alexander Nevins and her husband Chris of Houston; brother and sister in law Michael and Judy Decker of Cypress, Texas; and four grandchildren Alexander Nevins, Dalton Nevins, Trippe Nevins, and Elizabeth Nevins.
