Samuel L Alexander, 66 formerly of Orange, passed away Thursday Jan. 27th, peacefully with his family at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. Funeral service will be held Jan. 30th at 4:00 P.M. at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Dr. in Beaumont.

Memorial service will be held Jan. 31st at 11:00 A.M. at Friendship Baptist Church in Beaumont. Born in Decatur, IL on Jan. 17th 1945, he was the son of Vernie & Roberta Traxler Alexander.

Sam grew up on a farm in IL, he served 4 yrs in the US Army, and lived in Alexandria, VA before moving to the Orange/Beaumont area. Sam was a master carpenter and skilled in many trades, he has built and shaped many homes in southeast Texas.

Sam loved the little things in life, making people laugh, home cooking and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Sam was a devoted Christian and member of Friendship Baptists Church in Beaumont. He will be remembered for many great things, but especially for his caring heart and loving smile.

He is survived by his loving wife of 12 yrs Wanda Alexander, brother Dan & Sigrid Alexander of Colorado Springs, Co, son Anthony & Chantell Alexander, son Nicholas & Krissy Alexander, daughter Carman & Allen Fisher, daughter Samantha & Heath Tarver; step children Paul & Connie Murphy of Beaumont, Dan & Brenda Murphy, Judy Murphy, Chaz & Mary Pardue, Michelle & Brian Ruberger all of Pennsylvania; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
