Auto - moped accident leaves toddler injured

On Monday at about 1:45 p.m. Orange Police and Fire Departments, along with Acadian EMS responded to the Texas Medical Branch Health Clinic at 2014 North 10th St.

Officers arrived to find that a black moped had been struck by a car in the parking lot, and found that the moped was being operated by 28 year old Orange resident, Johnny Morris. Morris was riding two year old Orange resident, J-Lynn Morris on his lap while operating the moped in the parking lot of the UTMB clinic.

As the moped was driving through the parking lot, and approaching Cordrey Avenue, a 2009 green Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by 29 year old Trumaine Adams of Orange collided with the moped.

J-Lynn Morris was transported from the scene by Air Rescue helicopter. Johnny Morris was transported by Acadian EMS. Trumaine Adams was unhurt.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Orange Police Department. The condition of those transported to medical facilities was not known. It is not believed that their injuries are life threatening.
