Jack R. Granger, 65, of Orangefield passed away on Wednesday, Feb.9, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb.15, from noon until 2 pm at Dorman Funeral Home.

A graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Granger Cemetery in Orange County, with Melvin “Bubba” Smith officiating.

He was a native and life long resident of Orange; born on September 27, 1945 to the late Horace David Granger and Sylvania Mary (Dequeant) Granger. He was a pipe fitter member with Local #195 in Orange and retiring from Local #350 in Sparks, NV. He was member of Winfree Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Granger of Orangefield; daughter, Diamond Raye Granger of Orangefield, sons, Donny Roy Granger of Taiwan, David Ray Granger of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Jimmy Roy Granger and wife Jean of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Janice Ruth Evans and husband Ronnie of Bridge City; granddaughters, Destiny Granger, Chrisleigh Granger; one grandson; one great granddaughter; nephews, Michael Granger, Chad Evans, Dustin Evans and Kaleb Evans.

Serving as pallbearers will be Melvin “Bubba” Smith, Johnny Granger, Calvin Kibodeaux, Wesley “Bubba” Ford, Pat Hudson and Jason Raymer. Honorary pallbearer will be John Ray Richardson.

The family would like to give a special thank you to our friend, Darlene LaFleur, for the care that she gave to Jack during his last days.
