Tuesday evening Orange Police were dispatched to a residence on Knox St in reference to the theft of 3 checkbooks. The victim, Phyllis Thibodeaux, said that on Feb. 13 she noticed three checkbooks, all from different banks, were missing.

Thibodeaux reported the checks missing to the appropriate financial institutions on Feb. 14. She tried to write two checks Feb. 22, but both were denied due to her accounts being frozen to prevent anyone from unlawfully using the missing checks.

Thibodeaux was also advised by one of her banks that a check had been written from the series of missing checks without her knowledge.

There are no known suspects at this time.
