Electronic equipment stolen from car in Orange
Thursday morning, Orange Police were dispatched to Fox Run Apartments in the 2600 block of Allie Payne in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. Officer Robert Ashworth arrived on the scene at 7:30 AM, and spoke with Jamie Haskett.
Haskett told Officer Robert Ashworth that sometime between 20:30 PM and 5:15 AM, someone broke into his 1998 Camaro while it was parked in the parking lot of the apartments. Several items were removed without his permission.
The dash of the vehicle had been partially torn out, and there was a void left where Haskett clained there had been a black Sony single disc player, valued at $150. Officer Ashworth also observed wires in the trunk area where Haskett said there were two red and black Kicker speakers valued at $200.
He didn’t have any serial numbers or any other information regarding the missing property. He did advise officers though, that the amplifier was originally silver, but he had painted it black and red.
Haskett also told police that his camouflage wallet containing his social security card and Texas driver’s license were missing. He said his car was locked, but there was no sign of forced entry.
Haskett said he didn’t know who had taken the items without permission, but would be pressing charges if a suspect was located.
