Friday morning Officer Aaron Carter with the Orange Police Department was called to the Pilot Truck Stop on Hwy. 62 in Orange on the report of a woman asleep behind the wheel of a White Jeep Cherokee.

Upon the officer’s arrival, he noticed the vehicle parked near the front door of the store. When he approached the vehicle, he observed a white female sitting upright, head hanging down asleep and drooling.

The woman was determined to be intoxicated and placed under arrest. It was then discovered that there was a child in the vehicle as well. The child’s grandmother was contacted and she took custody of the child, along with the woman’s vehicle and other personal belongings.

The woman, was charged with endangering a child and public intoxication, and transported to the Orange County Jail where she was booked.
