CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) held a ribbon-cutting at their new facility, 2120 Gloria Dr. in Orange.   Texas CASA CEO Joe Gagen was present from Austin, along with Orange County Judge Carl Thibodeaux and County Commissioners John Dubose and David Dubose.

Gisela Houseman of Tony Houseman Companies, helped with the actual ribbon-cutting. She was instrumental in donating land and making sure the building was built along with many generous contractors who donated time, materials and labor.

“We appreciate everyone who supports CASA. Many abused children will be helped through this new building,” said Jane Stevenson, executive director.  “What a recovery from Hurricane Ike!”

The agency will have a fundraiser for CASA on March 17 at Chili’s in Orange. It will be a pancake breakfast.  Call the office for tickets at 409-886-2272.  Tickets are $10.00 each.
