Wednesday evening, Orange Police were dispatched to the Country Store located in the 3700 block of 16th St. in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival to the store, Officer Jeffery Busby observed a Red Chevrolet Truck parked on the east side of the parking lot. Busby made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, who verbally identified himself as Christopher Noble.

As officers spoke with Noble, they observed that he was speaking quickly, and continually reaching under his seat, as if attempting to retrieve something. Officer Busby had Noble step out of the vehicle, at which time, a black handle pocket knife, which was hanging out of Noble’s pocket, was observed.

At this time, Officer Busby removed the knife from Noble’s pocket. While removing the knife, pressure was applied to a metal button on the handle of the knife, which caused the blade of the knife to quickly spring out of the handle.

Officers placed Nobles under arrest and took him into custody on charges of possessing a prohibited weapon. Nobles was transported to Orange County Jail where he was given an opportunity to giving a statement, but refused to do so.
