Karla Jean Belknap, 51, of Orange passed away on Sunday, March 13, surrounded by her family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Little Cypress Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. David Turner officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

She was a native of Odessa, Texas; born on Jan. 2, 1960 to parents Robert Cook and Vivian (Christopher) Cook. She had lived the last 12 years in Orange area and was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church. Her great joy in life was taking care of children, this calling started at the age of 17. She was the Day Care Director for Little Cypress Baptist Learning Center and was very active in the church. Karla was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cook; brothers, Larry Cook and Bobby Cook.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Belknap of Orange, daughter, Charlie Kay Belknap of Orange; son, Zach Belknap of Orange; mother, Vivian Cook of Odessa, Texas; sisters, Reba Beam and husband Frank of Odessa, Texas, Doris Magee and husband John of Granbury, Texas and a large extended family.
