According to Texas Department of Criminal Justice, an inmate who escaped from a southeast Texas prison last Wednesday, was captured Monday evening in Omaha, Nebraska.

David Puckett, 27, was taken into custody in Omaha at about 8:45 PM at the apartment of a female friend, who was also arrested.

Puckett attempted to flee from police and jumped from a second story window. He was not injured and was taken into custody by US Marshalls, who were acting on information gathered in Houston by officers with TDCJ’s Inspector General and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.

Puckett escaped from the Stiles Unit in Beaumont while serving a 30 year sentence for aggravated assault of a public servant.
