Nap in church parking lot leads to arrest
Sunday morning at approximately 6:00 AM, Orange police were dispatched to the 500 block of John, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. When police arrived on the scene, they observed a White Dodge pickup with the driver side door opened, and parked on the southeast side of the parking lot.
Officers observed a white female sleeping in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was not running but the keys were in the ignition. When officers removed the key, the woman began to wake up. After she woke up, she identified herself as Charlotte Cooley.
Cooley had glassy eyes, was very disoriented and unsteady on her feet. Cooley thought she was in Port Arthur and did not know how she got to the parking lot that she was in.
Cooley was thought to be intoxicated to the point that she would be a danger to herself or others if left along and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
While at the jail, Cooley advised police that she also went by the names Charlotte Moses and Charlotte Wold, She was booked under the name Charlotte Moses, which she currently uses as her name.
