Orange police responded Wednesday afternoon to Richard’s in the 4000 block of Interstate 10, on a burglary call. Upon arrival, Officer Tim Pruitt met with Ricardo Ceja, who told police that he had last checked on the building about one week prior.

Ceja went to the property and discovered that the building had been burglarized by somebody who entered the building and stripped a large amount of copper from inside.

It is believed the suspect(s) entered the building through a door at the back of the business. The window to the door had been knocked out.

While inside, somebody pulled about 30 feet of the three inch conduit from the ceiling, and an undetermined amount of copper wiring was taking from inside the conduit, and a three by three sheet of stainless steel was taken from off the top of a large vent located on the roof.

Ceja advised that he would press charges if a suspect was caught.
