Orange couple report check fraud to police
Thursday morning, Officer Christopher Cowart with the Orange Police Dept., responded to a walk in complaint in reference to forgery on an account. Upon arrival, Officer Cowart met with George and Rosalie Jones, of Orange.
Mrs. Jones told police that she had been notified by a member of Wells Fargo Bank of suspicious activity on her account.
Jones told police that the representative said she had noticed there were multiple checks casjed from the account that were extremely out of sequence. Upon checking the check book, Mrs. Jones found she was missing five checks from the back of her check book.
Jones said she has had a lady helping her around the house, and the bank representative confirmed it was the same lady who had cashed the checks.
