Orange police were dispatched Sunday to Orange Dive and Ski Supply, in the 1100 block of W. Green Ave., in reference to a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, Officer Aaron Carter observed the front window of the business was broken. Officer Carter then heard another officer giving verbal commands for somebody at the back of the building to get down on the ground.

Carter then went to the back of the building to assist and found Officer H.E. DeVault detaining the subject. After detaining the subject, contact was made with the owners. When the owners arrived, Officer Carter entered the building and observed a large chunk of cement embedded in the wall across from the broken window.

After reviewing the surveillance video from the store, it was determined that the subject being held was not the person who broke the window of the building. The detained subject was released and provided a consensual DNA sample.

A copy of the surveillance video was provided to officers.
