Looking for something interesting to do on Thursday and Friday evenings, April 21 and 22? The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Theatre Department will present their award-winning one-act play, “The Marriage of Betty and Boo,” both nights, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the LCM High School auditorium. Tickets are $3 per student and $5 for adults and may be purchased at the door.

Under the direction of Cory Broom, LCM HS took the Zone top honors, District 20-4A Co-Championship spot, and were 4A Area qualifiers as an ensemble; but the students also earned sixteen individual honors during their competition run.

Zone awards include: Best Actor and Actress – Aaron Alford and Emily Dodd; All-Star Cast members are Saber Brasher, Kristin Yokum, Jessi Hyder, and Paul Daleo; and Honorable Mention winners are – Nate Clark, Andrew Borel, Bailey Gilbeaux, and Trevier Gonzalez. District award winners are: Kristin Yokum and Bailey Gilbeaux – All-Star Cast; and Aaron Alford claimed an Honorable Mention.

At Area, Emily Dodd was named to the All-Star Cast and Saber Brasher and Jessi Hyder earned an Honorable Mention.

The cast of characters are: Emily Dodd as Bette Brennan; Saber Brasher as Margaret Brennan, her mother; Nate Clark as her father, Paul Brennan; her sister, Joan Breenan, played by Jessi Hyder; Emiy Brennan, another sister, play by Kristin Yokum; Aaron Alford as Boo Hudlocke; Karl Hudlocke, his father, played by Paul Daleo; Boo’s mother, Soot Hudlocke, played by Bailey Gilbeaux; Trevier Gonzalez as Father Donnally and the Doctor; and Andrew Borel as Matt. Alternates are: Hunter Sheard, Kaitlyn Stewart, and Kelsey Strother. Those running the technical end of the show are: Cullen Maglothin, Matt Roe, Jonathan Tippett, Iris Natividad, and Drew Frederick.
