Commissioners to meet on Monday
ORANGE COUNTY, Texas – Commissioners’ Court will be held on Monday, April 18 at 2 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom of the Orange County Administration Building, located at 123 S. 6th Street in Orange.
Christy Khoury, Orange County Treasurer, will ask the Commissioners to discuss and take possible action on the filing in the minutes of the Court a direct deposit from the State Comptroller of Public Accounts in the amount of $260,743.61. These funds represent the ½ cent Sales and Use Allocation for the month of February 2011 and have been credited to the General Operating Fund.
Deborah Rawls, Orange County Auditor, will ask the Court to discuss and take possible action regarding the payment of bills including $72,906.78 to G & G Enterprises from the general fund for the Orange County Courthouse; $63,881.43 to Schaumburg & Polk, Inc., from the general fund for the Shelter of Last Resort; and $1,150 to Claybar Funeral Home from the general fund for Indigent Funeral Expenses.
Rawls will also ask the Commissioners for approval to transfer $98 from the County Clerk’s Travel Expenses and $42 from the County Clerk’s Office Supplies to Registration, Seminars and Conferences to provide fund for the remainder of the fiscal year.
She will also ask the Court to approve of the transfer of $12,000 from the Mosquito Control’s Aerial Spraying-Chemicals and transfer it to Aerial Spraying-Aircraft Maintenance to provide fund for the remainder of the fiscal year.
Emergency Management Director, Jeff Kelley, will provide any and all updates on projects that are currently being worked on by his office. The Court will discuss and take action if necessary.
Keith Merritt, Orange County Sheriff, will ask the Commissioners to discuss and take possible action regarding the approval and acceptance of the Interlocal Contract relating to the planning, development, operation and provision of 9-1-1 Service and use of 9-1-1 funds between Orange County and the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission. Upon approval, Carl Thibodeaux, Orange County Judge, will sign each copy of the contract.
The Court will then hear a five minute report from the following Orange County Departments: Health and Code Compliance, Transportation and Parks. Each department will also provide a short written report to each member of the Court. The Commissioners will discuss and take action if necessary.
Connie Cassidy, Orange County Purchasing Agent, will ask the Commissioners to discuss and take possible action regarding awarding the bid on the Orange County Community Shelter Disaster Recovery Project Contract No. DRS010214.
On Tuesday, April 19, Thibodeaux will hold a public hearing in the same Courtroom regarding granting a Mass Gathering Permit for the Jenesis Event to be held on Saturday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and for the Texas Bar-B-Q Festival to be held on Friday, April 29 from 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
