Esther Guevara Dominguez, 83, of Orange passed away on Wednesday, May 4, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was a native of San Angelo; born on Feb. 25, 1928 to parents Bernave Guevara and Sulema Cruz.

She had lived in the Orange area since 1953 and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She started off in the restaurant business by working at Little Mexico Restaurant; she and her husband Oscar Dominguez Sr. were owners and operators of Old Mexico Restaurant in Orange from 1973 until 1984. She had a great love for her dogs and spending time with her family. Esther was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded is death by her husband, Oscar Dominguez Sr.; father, Bernave Guevara; mother and stepfather, Sulema and Anastacio Ramos, sister, Cruz Ojeda, brothers, Roy Ramos, Robert Ramos, Paul Guevara.

Her surviving family who will cherish her memory are her sons, Felix Dominguez of Orange, Oscar Dominguez Jr. of Pittsburg , PA, Daniel Dominguez and wife Ann of Orange; grandchildren, John Dominguez of Pittsburg, PA, Sherry Jones and husband Chris of Newton, Denisha Lowe and husband David of Orange, Damon Dominguez and wife Dana of Nederland; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She is also survived by her sisters, Anita Briones of El Paso, Maria Giallongo and husband Gidvanni of La Fayette, NC, Julia Gonzales of Wasco, CA, Olga Sierra and husband Patricio of Bakersfield, CA, Celia Corona of Wasco, CA; brother, Pedro Guevara and wife Chavela of San Jose, CA; sister in law, Amalia Guevara of San Angelo.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, from 5 pm until 9 pm at Dorman Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 7, at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orange, with the Rev. Joseph Daleo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orange.
