Hilda Marrie Harris, 79, of Deweyville passed away on Friday, May 6, at Orange Villa Nursing Home. She was a native of Orangefield; born on Sept. 28, 1931 to parents Ovenile Foreman and Emily (Morvent) Foreman.

She was a life long resident of Bridge City and Deweyville and was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Deweyville. She had worked many years at Weingarten’s and at Royal Theater. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ovenile and Emily Foreman, brother, Stephen Foreman.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Cecil Carroll Harris of Deweyville, daughters, Connie Wilkerson and husband Thomas of Deweyville, Becky Smith of Deweyville; sons, Lannie Reed Harris of Deweyville, William Christopher “Chris” Harris of Orange; sisters, Jean Bates and husband Myles of Ohio, Florence Foreman of Beaumont, Joann Phelps and husband Jerry of Orange; brother, Edward Forman and wife Charlotte of Orange; sister in law, Bonnie Buxton; former daughter in law, Ruth Harris Roberts and husband Chris of Houston; grandchildren, William Peterson, Christina Smith, Farrah Villadsen, Tyler Tully, Caleb Reed Harris, Colleen Nicole Harris, Landon Reed Harris; great grandchildren, Amber Peterson, Alyssa Peterson and Ali Peterson.

She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at United Pentecostal Church of Deweyville. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 10:00 AM at the church, with the Rev. Darrell Orange officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery in West Orange.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Foreman, Randy Buxton, Caleb Harris, Frank Bergeron, Bert Arnold and Chris Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are CR Buxton and Thomas Holt.
