A 13 year old Bridge City little leaguer was hit by a baseball during a game, and was taken by medical helicopter to a Galveston hospital as a precautionary measure.

According to a BC firefighter, the teen was running to home plate during Saturday’s game at the Bridge City Little League’s junior field on Parkside St., when he was hit in the head by a baseball and knocked unconscious.

The boy was unconscious for about ten minutes before regaining consciousness and was alert when the helicopter landed nearby.

He was taken to the hospital to be checked out, and firefighters said he should be alright.
