Tuesday evening, Officer Michael Roush, with the Orange Police Dept., responded to a call in reference to a burglary of a habitation. Upon arrival to the apartment complex in the 1000 block of S. Hwy. 87, Officer Roush made contact with the victim.

The victim told police that sometime between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:45 pm, an unknown suspect caused damage to the front door of her apartment. The victim told officers that her cousin called her about 4:45 pm and advised her of the damage to her apartment door.

The woman stated that when she returned home, she found that the front door had been broken in. She immediately contacted police to report the incident.

The victim’s apartment building is located in the center of the complex, with the apartment being on the second floor. Police observed that the door had been forced open and the door frame around the dead bolt area was broken in two pieces. The dead bolt was still out in the locked position.

Photos were taken at the scene, and the victim was advised to contact police if she noticed any other problems.
