The Orange Fire Dept responded to a plastic fire today on South Hwy. 87 at the Beckett & Beckett facility. A grass fire, which spread to bulk plastic, was reported by employees.

Crews who were responding to the fire saw a large column of black smoke as they approached the area and realized the fire involved more than just grass.

It took crews about 15 minutes to get the fire under control, after the first crew arrived on the scene.

The cause of fire was thought to be a broken electrical line behind the Beckett & Beckett property. Crews remained on the scene for approximately three hours to insure the fire was completely out.
