The Friends of the Bridge City Public Library have hosted story time for local children for fifteen plus years. The 2011 state library summer reading program theme is Dig Up A Good Book. “We want children to enjoy reading and strive to get story time guests who will encourage them to read a book, not just come for show-n-tell,” said Shirley Jordan, Friends president. Children may pick up reading logs at the library and track their time spent reading or being read to by their parents. Those who turn in logs can participate in the awards ceremony on July 27.
