Thursday afternoon, Officer Ty Maines with the Orange Police Dept., was dispatched to the area of 2nd St. and Burton in reference to a possible intoxicated female. Police arrived at about 3:40 pm, and made contact with a female who was identified as 66 year old Faye Brackens.

Brackens had slow speech and was unsteady on her feet. She also had the smell of alcohol on her breath and on her person.

Attempts to find somebody to take custody of Brackens were unsuccessful, and it was determined that in her intoxicated state, she may be a danger to herself or others. She was placed into custody for public intoxication and transported to the Orange County Jail for processing.
