Tuesday morning, Officer Troy Tyson, with the Orange Police Dept., was dispatched to the 200 block of Farragut in reference to criminal mischief. When Officer Tyson arrived on the scene, he met with the female victim.

The victim told police she parked her vehicle in her driveway for the evening the night before. She stated there was no damage to the vehicle at that time. When she returned to her vehicle the following morning, she noticed that an unknown suspect had scratched her car.

She stated that the car had been scratched on both sides and on the hood sometime the night before.

The woman said she did not see anyone cause the damage to her vehicle, but she would like to press charges if a suspect is located.

Police say the damage seemed to be caused by some type of sharp object, possibly a key or knife.

Estimated damage to the vehicle is thought to be about $2,000.
