Helen Rogers Mahfouz, 88, of West Orange, passed away Thursday, June 9, at the Golden Years Assisted Living Center in Orange.

Services to remember her life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at the McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Joel Warren, pastor of the church. A gathering of family and friends will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Committal will follow services at 2:30 p.m. at the Union Springs Cemetery in the Converse community where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.

Helen was born on April 5, 1923 at home in the Hunter community near Converse, La. to her parents, Milton Lane Rogers and Minnie Ieola (Bossier) Rogers, she was a resident of Orange since 1952 and she was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Helen enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers; her four sisters and her husband, Nima Mahfouz.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughters, Carol Meyers of Orange and Brenda Anderson of Logansport, La.; her five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by numerous extended family members.
