Vidor man arrested on rape charges

April 26, detectives with the Lake Charles office of the Louisiana State Bureau of Investigations received a complaint from a Westlake, La. Man that his four year old daughter had been raped by a Vidor man.
According to the girl’s father, the girl was at the residence of 42 year old James Alton Broussard of Vidor, during the Easter holiday.
The father told police that while at the residence, Broussard sexually molested his daughter.
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies were contacted by Louisiana state police detectives of the rape, after a nurse examiner from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital completed a sexual assault evidence kit on the child.
On June 6, 2011, during an interview with detectives from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Broussard admitted to sexually molesting the 4-year-old girl.
Broussard was arrested for aggravated sexual assault of a child and booked into the Orange County Correctional Facility. Bond was set at $500,000.
