Orange police responded Tuesday afternoon to a call regarding burglary of a habitation. Officer Christopher Cowart arrived on the scene, and met with the home owner, Kyle Broussard.

Broussard told police that his home had been broken in to and the copper wiring stolen from the air conditioning unit.

Broussard stated that he had not been at the house, which is being renovated, in about two weeks. There was a broken window at the entrance of the residence and a foot print was found on the bottom of the front door.

Palm prints were taken from the window pane of the broken window. A knife, which the homeowner said didn’t belong to him, was also removed from the residence.

Although there is no suspect information at this time, DNA samples were taken from several items of evidence at the scene.
