Mary Nell Manley, 74, of Orange was born on Dec. 25, 1936 in De Quincy, the daughter of the late W. R. “Bill” Yellott and Nola Sanders Yellott. She passed away Thursday, June 23, at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.

Mary taught school at Little Cypress Elementary, retiring in 1991 from LCMCISD with 30 years of dedicated service. She became an Honorary Member of the Texas PTA in 1987. Mary was a member of Brookeland United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles B. Manley, her parents Bill & Nola Yellott, her sister Adele Murphy, and her brother-in-law Bill Seal.

She is survived by her daughter Sue Manley, son Robert Manley and wife Janet, all of Orange; her grandsons, Paul Manley and Matt Manley, both of College Station. She is also survived by her sister Mavis Seal of Orange, and many nieces and nephews.

The greatest joy of her life were her children and spending time in the kitchen, playing games and attending sporting events with her grandsons, Paul and Matt.

Pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services for Mary Nell Manley will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland.
