UPDATE: BC Mayor taken to hospital
Update: Kirk Roccaforte, Mayor of Bridge City, was taken to the hospital earlier this afternoon. It was speculated that he might have suffered from a heart attack. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. As of 9 p.m., it is still unclear what caused the Mayor to lose consciousness.
According to Bridge City City Manger, Jerry Jones, Roccaforte: “when I left [the hospital] he was doing much better and feeling much better.”
Jones said the Mayor could have suffered from a seizure.
Mayor Roccaforte said earlier this evening it is possible he could have suffered from dehydration and they weren’t sure when hewould be able to go home, but he confirmed he was feeling better.

According to Bridge City City Manager Jerry Jones, Bridge City Mayor Kirk Roccaforte has reportedly passed out and is currently being transferred by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
It is unclear the nature of the emergency, possible heart attack or heat stroke.
Roccaforte was at his place of business, Bridge City Radiator and Auto Repair, when he passed out.
