Pinehurst Police Briefs
Officers from the Pinehurst Police Department responded to the following calls between June 30, and July 15:
On June 30, Officer K. Blakeney arrested a white male for outstanding warrants while assisting another police agency. Benjamin McDowell, a 25 year old black male was arrested for two outstanding warrants issued by the Pinehurst Municipal Court.
On July 2, Officer K. Blakeney responded to a private property accident in the 1400 block of Strickland Dr.
On July 4, Officer M. Dempsey responded to the 200 block of Strickland Dr. in reference to a vehicle burglary. A window had been broken out of the vehicle. Items missing include $20 in U.S. currency and assorted credit cards and various forms of identification.
On July 5, Officer K. Blakeney conducted a traffic stop on Strickland at Martin St. The driver, Justin Gantt, a 20 year old white male was subsequently arrested for outstanding warrants.
On July 6, Officer M. Dempsey received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred approximately one month ago at an address on 28th St. in Pinehurst.
On July 9, Officer L. Roff responded to the 3500 block of Raven in reference to theft. An 8 year old Tibetan spaniel valued at $1200 was reported stolen.
On July 11, Officer L. Roff conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Strickland Dr. The driver, Consuelo R. Hernandez, a 30 year old white male, was subsequently placed under arrest for outstanding traffic warrants.
On July 14, Officer J. Payne responded to Adam’s Bayou at IH-10 in reference to a traffic accident. A vehicle, hauling a 2012 Dodge Nitro struck a guardrail causing the Nitro to roll off of the trailer and roll into Adam’s Bayou.
On July 15, Officer L. Roff received a report of an assault that occurred in the 3800 block of Pheasant St.
On July 15, Officer M. Dempsey received the report of an assault that occurred in the 3000 block of Macarthur Dr.
