Obie Leo Pitman, 62, of Orange, passed away on July 28.

He was born on July 9, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Obie Leo Pitman and Myrtle Cauthron Pitman. Obie proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Later, he worked in maintenance in the real estate industry.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Whitehead, Obie is survived by his son, Curtis Pitman; grandson, Jacob Pitman; brothers, Sammy Pitman, Allen Whitehead, Ernest Whitehead, Vernon Whitehead, James Whitehead and Millard Whitehead; sisters, Mildred Pitman, Melissa Carpenter, Nellie Krizak and Jeanette McKinley; and other friends and family members.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home. The service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Dr. Ronnie Trice officiating.

Burial, with military honors, will be at White Cemetery in Highlands.
