Ice Box Fruit Cake

Last updated 8/31/2011 at Noon

I have a new wrinkle on my brain because I learned a new thing. I sent out a plea for new recipes and I got one. I should have stated don’t send it at 3 a.m.

We got such a call from one of my faithful readers at 3 a.m. on Wednesday. However, she did add her phone, which I called at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.

She was sending a fax and did not know it would ring.

Just to show you how appreciative I am, I’m putting her recipe in the article. I have not tried it, so I hope you all like it.

Pound of Everything.

1 pound of butter

1 pound of marshmallows

1 pound of raisins

1 pound of cherries

1 pound of walnuts or pecans

1 pound of crushed graham crackers

Melt butter, then add marshmallows. Melt completely. Remove from stove, add raisins, red cherries, nuts and crushed graham crackers.

Stir well, it’s very hard to mix. Press into what ever bowl or pan you have. Put in the refrigerator. It’s better if you eat this the next day. You can also freeze it.

Gooder’n Syrup! Von.
