At about 6:08 am Wednesday, a man wearing a bandana over his face, and carrying a small handgun, entered the Sun Mart station in the 300 block of N. Lutcher and robbed it. There were no reported injuries in the robbery.

Shortly after the robbery, an Orange patrol officer attempted to stop a suspect fitting the description of the man who robbed the station. The man was walking in a nearby neighborhood, and fled on foot and got away.

Upon examining the robbery video from the store, and the patrol officer’s car video, police detectives from the Orange Police Dept., recognized the face of the subject. Detectives determined they were the same person, and they recognized the subject as someone known to them.

Later in the evening, detectives located the subject they saw on the video, and he confessed. The man, who has been identified as 20 year old Ernest Jamale Mouton, Jr., was arrested for aggravated robbery and booked into the Orange County Jail.
