Woman arrested for East Texas fires

A Trinity woman has been accused of setting five fires East Texas in a search for attention, according to her son.

Tommie Ragsdale, 46, was arrested and booked into the Houston County Jail in Crockett, after being charged with five counts of arson. Her bond has been set at $450,000.

A Trinity County constable, arrested Ragsdale Monday on suspicion of being involved in the fires.

The woman’s son, Eric Ragsdale, said that his mother had been in and out of mental hospitals, and had been living in an apartment in Trinity, until his father moved her to a house two weeks ago. The house was near where they fires were started.

The son said that his mother set the fires for attention, and help that she desperately needs.
