Orange County man arrested for crime spree
Newton and Jasper County sheriff’s officers arrested a 34 year old Orange County man in connection with more than 25 robberies in three Southeast Texas counties.
Joe Walker, Newton County Sheriff said that investigators came across the suspect after a tip that stolen property was being sold on a Southeast Texas website.
Cynthia Hall and Leslie Hopkins, investigators called the man and set up a meeting with him at a residence north of Vidor. Hall and Hopkins also found weapons that had been stolen in Hardin and Jasper counties.
Eric Wayne Park, the suspect, gave officers a statement about the burglaries, along with information on pawn shops, sales and exchanges he made on the weapons and other items.
These transactions range from Orange County to Harris County.
Park is in the Newton County Jail.
