Three West Orange – Stark Middle School students have been selected to perform with the Texas Music Educator’s Middle School Region X Choir.

WO-S Middle School’s Alexis Wiley, Rachel Self, and Nathan Hayes are part of a select group of 120 to be selected for the prestigious choir.

The top 20 in every section are selected for the choir.

Wiley placed 12th in her section. Hayes placed 13th; and Self placed 18th in her section.

All three students are in the eighth grade.

Additionally, eight other WO-S Middle School students placed well in the All-Region competition, although they did not make the choir. They are: Nicole Mouton, Nina Guidroz, Ashley Reney, Amber Cortez, Austin O’Quinn, Cruz Hernandez, Lexy Fleetwood, and Joseph Sterling.

1400 students from throughout the region auditioned at the Region X event. They were from Orange to as far away as Jasper, Sabine Pass, Port Arthur, Liberty and Baytown, and including all schools in between.
