Sunday evening, Officer Ty Maines, with the Orange Police Dept., was dispatched to the HEB in the 2400 block of 16th St. to assist Sgt. Arnold who was working security on the premises at the time. Upon arrival, Officer Sgt. Arnold had a white female detained for soliciting money inside the store.

Sgt. Arnold stated he observed the female, who identified herself as Diane Renee Rentfro, walking around the store, and approaching several customers. Sgt. Arnold observed a hand to hand transaction of money. At this time, Arnold detained the female in an attempt to issue her a criminal trespass warning for the property.

The woman told police she had an ID card issued through the state of Tennessee. A check through dispatch was unable to locate an ID under this name. Sgt. Arnold again asked the woman what her name was, and she gave him two other names, neither of which were found in the system.

Officer Maines then placed the woman under arrest for failure to identify, which is a Class B, for providing false information to a police officer while being detained.

As the woman was being transported to the Orange County Jail, she stated that her ID card was under the name of Lisa Diane Stilts. A check through dispatch confirmed this name and date of birth to be a Tennessee driver’s license.

The woman was transported to the Orange County Jail and released to jail staff.
