St. Mary first graders learn the art of ornament making
Miss. Slovak’s first grade class at St. Mary Catholic School was busy making Christmas ornaments this week.
The students learned that if you mix applesauce and cinnamon, it makes a dough. You can roll it out just like cookie dough, and use Christmas cookie cutters to cut out different ornaments.
After letting them dry for a week, the dough can be decorated. The cinnamon makes a peasant aroma when placed on your tree by the lights.
The students were excited about choosing which ornament to make, and even more thrilled about decorating them.
