On Dec. 20, at approximately 2:20 am., Officer Marcus Bernard was dispatched to the Super Food Mart, in the 1500 block of 37th St., in reference to a burglar alarm.

Upon arrival, Officer Bernard observed the front glass door to the business had been shattered.

Officer Bernard observed a rusty boat anchor lying on the floor inside the door, which appeared to have been used to make entry into the store. He also observed various types of cigarettes and cases of beer lying on the floor. The cigarette case above the counter was broken as well.

After clearing the store, the key holder, who was also identified as the store manager, arrived on the scene. She told police that it appeared an unknown amount of items had been taken without consent.

The manager advised that the estimated damage to the door was $1,000, and that she would press charges if a suspect is located.
