Samuel VanSlyke, 76, retired Boilermaker of Orangefield, passed away Wednesday Dec. 22.

Samuel was born Dec. 28, 1934 in Pott Arthur, to Everette and Aneta VanSlyke. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, six brothers, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Ann; two daughters Patricia and husband James Webb of Orangefield, Neta Kay and husband Roy Pickett of San Antonio; one son Samuel Jr. and wife Tammy, of Orangefield; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He loved talking about the Lord, fishing, and his family.
