On Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 10:19 pm., Officer Joshua Dempsey was dispatched to 2801 Sunset, in reference to a theft.

Upon arrival, Officer Dempsey made contact with a white male at the front door.

The man stated that he allowed one of his daughter’s friends to store a bicycle inside the apartment earlier in the day so no one would steal it. The friend was identified as a black male the victim knew.

At approximately 4:30 pm, the victim stated that he left his residence to go to church, and that the bicycle was inside the residence at that time and no one was inside.

The man told police he returned home from church about 8:30 pm, and found the bicycle gone, along with some jewelry which has been valued at approximately $260.

The suspect has been identified and the victim stated that he wishes to press charges.
