A Houston soldier was found dead Sunday, Jan 8, in barracks at a Colorado infantry post.

The woman was identified as 28 year old Specialist Brandy Fonteneaux, of Houston. The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Fonteneaux’s body was found at Fort Carson, which is just outside Colorado Springs. The woman’s family reportedly said that the soldier had been found stabbed and unclothed.

The Army Criminal Investigation Command is investigating the incident, and other officials with the U.S. Army are not releasing any details. The family has declined any comments to the press.

No suspects have been named, and authorities do not believe anyone else is in danger.

Fonteneaux had been in the Army for two years, and was a food specialist with the 4th Engineer Battalion.
