Cypress Intermediate School is sponsoring their first Family STAAR

Night that will be held on Tuesday, Jan.17, at LCI. STARR stands for

“State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness”

and is the state-mandated tests that replace the TAKS or “Texas

Assessment of Knowledge and Skills” tests. There are three separate

components to the evening.

Tips for families will be led by teachers in the library and is a

session on how to help your child be successful on the STAAR Test.

  • Positive

Family Interaction through guided games and activities will be held in

the gym with the assistance of some of the LCM High School National

    Honor Society

    Students and Future Educators.

  • A

family spaghetti dinner will be catered in the cafeteria and is

provided through funds received from LCI’s “Reaching For Excellence

    Award” for their Enrollment

Blitz held earlier in the year. The “Blitz” was held to assist families

in the transition of the Medicaid/CHIPS programs as well as assisting

eligible families to enroll in hopes that none of our children would

    have to go without healthcare.
