Tuesday, Jan. 12, at about 2:17 pm, Orange police were dispatched to the 800 block of 10th St. in reference to a theft.

Officer Byrun Perry arrived on the scene and met with the victim, Katherine Brooks of Orange.

Brooks told police that she observed her cousin walking in the area of 10th St. and Park Ave., and offered to give her a ride home. While en-route to her cousin’s home, Brooks stopped at a convenience store and went inside for a soda.

After Brooks dropped her cousin off and returned home, she discovered that property belonging to her had been removed from her purse. At this time, Brooks called her cousin to ask if she had taken the property, but didn’t get an answer to the call.

Brooks them went back to her cousin’s home to talk with her, but found that she was not home.

Brooks told police that she wishes to pursue charges against her cousin for taking her property.
